Honeymoon Bloom

Morgan Lowe, Prose Editor

Through‌ ‌a‌ ‌glowing‌ ‌bright‌ ‌moon,‌ ‌crystalized‌ ‌ideas‌ ‌turn‌ ‌a‌ ‌honeymoon‌ ‌bloom‌ ‌

The‌ ‌fractals‌ ‌surround‌ ‌me,‌ ‌merge‌ ‌into‌ ‌my‌ ‌flesh‌ ‌ ‌

My‌ ‌blood‌ ‌turns‌ ‌azure‌ ‌and‌ ‌sapphires‌ ‌seep‌ ‌out‌ ‌of‌ ‌my‌ ‌wounds‌ ‌

I‌ ‌breathe‌ ‌seafoam‌ ‌green‌ ‌in‌ ‌puffs‌ ‌of‌ ‌chilly‌ ‌air‌ ‌ ‌

I‌ ‌feel‌ ‌my‌ ‌body‌ ‌shiver‌ ‌but‌ ‌I‌ ‌stand‌ ‌here‌ ‌in‌ ‌peace‌ ‌ ‌

Because‌ ‌I‌ ‌know‌ ‌I’m‌ ‌surrounded‌ ‌by‌ ‌versions‌ ‌of‌ ‌myself‌ ‌

Woven‌ ‌by‌ ‌my‌ ‌once-crimson‌ ‌droplets‌ ‌ ‌

Molded‌ ‌by‌ ‌my‌ ‌dying‌ ‌tears‌ ‌ ‌

Emerald‌ ‌fluid‌ ‌leaks‌ ‌out‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌pen‌ ‌I‌ ‌hold‌ ‌

My‌ ‌hand‌ ‌already‌ ‌stained‌ ‌with‌ ‌faded‌ ‌green‌ ‌smudges‌ ‌

All‌ ‌I‌ ‌truly‌ ‌know‌ ‌of‌ ‌in‌ ‌this‌ ‌world‌ ‌

Are‌ ‌these‌ ‌exquisite‌ ‌extensions‌ ‌of‌ ‌myself‌ ‌

Better‌ ‌expressed‌ ‌than‌ ‌my‌ ‌body‌ ‌ever‌ ‌could‌ ‌ ‌

They‌ ‌torment‌ ‌me‌ ‌and‌ ‌they‌ ‌comfort‌ ‌me‌ ‌ ‌

They‌ ‌are‌ ‌me‌ ‌and‌ ‌are‌ ‌opposite‌ ‌of‌ ‌me‌ ‌

I‌ ‌could‌ ‌go‌ ‌on‌ ‌forever‌ ‌and‌ ‌yet‌ ‌I‌ ‌sit‌ ‌silent‌ ‌ ‌

For‌ ‌at‌ ‌least‌ ‌I’ve‌ ‌experienced‌ ‌the‌ ‌wonder‌ ‌of‌ ‌all‌ ‌this‌ ‌

Everything‌ ‌else‌ ‌just‌ ‌fades‌ ‌away‌
