Royalty? Why was I not Chosen?

Julia Rohde

I sit down and I draw,

Carving faces into places

That I’d like to go one day

Because all my friends live a thousand miles away.

And I sit by myself in the library

But it’s fine

Because if I’m gonna be lonely

At least it helps to have Wi-Fi.

A table is nice too

I put my paper by spots of blue

And I draw out all the lines

All the things that cause divides with me and the people around.

Sitting by myself I’ve found

I’m just a side character in my own story

The forgotten extended feature

Because everyone I know has more important things to say to more important people
